Exam Revision Mind Maps: Merge Your Lectures Into One Map

Kashish MustafaBy Kashish Mustafa, Co-founder, Mindmapi· Last reviewed 28 October 2026

Group your lecture maps into a course, then merge them into one exam map: topics grouped by theme, duplicates merged, and the links between lectures drawn out. Your originals stay as they are.

Over a term you build up a map for every lecture. By exam time the problem isn't any single lecture, it's seeing the whole course: which ideas come up again and again, and how a topic in week two connects to one in week nine. Mindmapi.ai helps with both.

Put your lecture maps into a course, such as Biology 101. Then tick the maps to include and choose Make exam map. AI merges them into one new map grouped by theme rather than by lecture, combines ideas that appear in more than one lecture, and adds a branch listing the links between lectures. Your lecture maps are never changed. When you're ready, Course quiz tests you across every map in the course.

How it works

  1. 1

    Make a course

On your list of maps, choose New course and add your lecture maps to it.

  2. 2

    Make the exam map

Tick the lecture maps to include and choose Make exam map. AI groups them by theme into one new map.

  3. 3

    Test yourself on the course

Revise from the exam map, then take a course quiz across every map in the course.

Why students use Mindmapi.ai

Organised by theme

The exam map follows the ideas, not the order of the lectures, which is how exam questions are asked.

Duplicates merged

An idea covered in three lectures becomes one topic, with what each lecture said combined in its note.

Links between lectures

A branch spells out how ideas from different lectures connect, the kind of link that earns top marks.

Your lectures stay as they are

The exam map is a new map. Your lecture maps are never changed, and a course only lists them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an exam revision map?

Group your lecture maps into a course, tick the ones to include on the course page, and choose Make exam map. AI merges them into one new map grouped by theme, with duplicates merged and a branch of links between lectures.

Will it change my lecture maps?

No. The exam map is a new map. Your lecture maps stay exactly as they are, and removing a map from a course never deletes it.

Can I quiz myself across a whole course?

Yes. Course quiz writes multiple-choice questions across every map in the course.

Is it free?

Courses work on every account. An exam map counts as one AI-made map and a course quiz as one quiz. Free accounts have 3 maps, including 1 made with AI, and 3 quizzes; Pro gives 30 AI maps a month and unlimited quizzes.
